Steve,
I belonged to the SAAC for a few years and then quit. They published a magazine called Driven that was pretty good and I have all of my old copies. It was monthly and had a lot of good information in it. But it seemed to me they were moving more and more away from real information and into promoting races that they would be having and such. I did learn a lot from them though and the races they had at Thunder Hill were well organized. Then my health went down hill and I quit going even for open track, so I just quit the club. Also, and I have nothing at all against making the cars as safe as possible, but by the time I quit they had gotten the rules to where you almost had to have a full race car even for the open track events which were supposed to be fun. So I sold all of my racing stuff including tires and wheels except for the helmet which I missed, and it isn't legal now.
