Heck, thats what they (Bush-Gore) were talking about ...all the money they will make.
Really, it seems like it's going to cost fossil fuel investors big time. Just when the carbon stuff is ready to get in short supply, and the price ready to skyrocket, some SOB changes the rules and tries to talk everyone out of buying it.
Actually, a lot of energy companies are investing in green technologies to keep the profit line up ...just like Phillip-Morris did in moving from "bad" tobacco into standard "good" food products.
In regard to helping the worlds poor, I suppose they figure it's all our fault for fouling earths atmosphere because ...well ...we did most of it. Well fine, lets send them all lifejackets. Or better yet, instructions on how to make something that floats. Like a board.
