Many people I know with FFR's have APE tops...I have never heard of this problem...Something else is amiss, as mentioned previously...Taping the overlap will just mask whatever is causing your problem...
I have a custom hard top, and ride with no windows all the time with no problem...Windshield angle, or defective mounting hardware may be the culprits. Why don't you contact the MFG with the problem. Check to see if your windshield angle is 52degrees (standard for FFR)
