According to the instruction manual, a hellically wound wire must be used such as MSD Heli-coil or 8.5 Super Conductor wire. The Super Conductor wires run 40-50 ohms per foot. I woud say that as long as you are using a hellically wound wire with at least 40-50 ohms of resistance per foot you should be fine. I can attest to higher resistance wires working fine as well. Never use a solid core wire.
