Default Shelby Fest Needs

Roda,

You will need a Helmet that meets Aus Standards (AS 1698 I think). Any motorbike or car racing shop will have. eg revolution racegear etc.

Covered shoes. Up to you here. A good set of leather runners are OK. You can now get driving shoes at some sports stores.

Full length clothing. Again up to you here. You can get a suit from racing shops / performance stores or a full covered cotton overalls. Otherwise jeans and long sleeve top (preferably cotton or wool) are OK.

If you have an opportunity, install a harness, it is worth it. It will stop you from swinging side to side in your seat when you're driving around the track. I have put a 3 point harness in my car which fits my existing lap sash seat belt lock down points and is tucked away when not in use. Got it from Autobarn for about $100 and they are ADR approved. Lots of club members have 4 and 5 point harnesses they install for these types of events.

You dont need a CAMS licence for Saturday. You can buy a AASA licence on the day or Friday if you are going to practice. Cost is $50 and will last 12 months. We will provide you with a CAMS day licence on the Sunday.

A Kill switch is a good idea, otherwise if we need to isolate the battery, the cable is cut in an emergency. Up to you here also.

If you need anything else just let us know.

Cheers

Tony
