Jamo,

I was there to see my last race when I was in basic at Ft. Ord. Then when I returned from that miserable place they sent me to, I went a few times when I would be down in that area. I think they still have one small piece of the track preserved with a sign that tells what it is but am not sure. The noise part is what really made it racing, plus they had to drive those cars. I miss the old CamAm-TransAm series. At least they used real cars and not the phony stuff NASCAR does now. I saw a guy at Thunder Hill last summer with a car he had bought from NASCAR and he was trying to run it on that track. It had Ford stenciled on it but it was one of the aero cars they used until this year and he made two laps and quit as he couldn't keep it on the track. I don't think it knew how to turn any way but left.
