Thanks guys, I'm really stuck for room under & behind the dash. I mounted it in the engine bay yesterday and have remade the wiring harness for a clean fit. I have a Butler Cobra with gobs of room in the hood.
I will make a custom instrument box if I can't find an extruded one of the right size. I will install a instrument cooling fan that will bring fresh filtered air from the front fender scoop. I just need to find a relay that has a 30 minute delayed off function to keep the instrument fan blowing for about 30 minutes after engine shut down.
Yes, this is easier than fitting it the passenger cab.
