Amy, you're a great sport. Your presence here alone is testament to your concern for and kinship with the enthusiasts out there. Th' cartoon ain't meant to hurt nobody - jes' a summarizin' the current state of perceptions on this issue. I mean that sincerely and with more than a small measure of affection even though we've never met. To tell the truth, I even maintain a persistent bit of affectionate admiration for ol' C.S. (Come out Shootin') hisself! Business realities granted, the sentimental crux of all this is that while everyone over the years has loved Ol' Shel for his determined, kick a$$ approach when people like Enzo were in the crosshairs, we all also want him to display the benevolent, protecting side of heroism when it comes to dealing with those entities that are seen as "good guys" and friends of the Shelby enthusiast community. Sort of like the super hero who beats the villain into the sidewalk and then jumps in front of a bus, using his might to save an old lady from being run over. Is it fair to hold him to this standard? Did he ever seek out the role of hero to all of the Shelby admirers? Probably not, but that's just the way it happens to be. Good luck with it all Amy, and thanks again for your valued presence. If I could ask you to do anything, it would be to get across to Shelby how important the feelings and perceptions of his legions of fans, admirers and enthusiasts are to his products and to his ultimate legacy.
