I use 24t--anything less and eventually you will strip teeth off---gets kinda pricy at between $50-60 per 12 ft 6 in blade--If it is for straight cuts you might try a wider blade also--helps to keep straight when starting the cut or coming out the other side altho personally I like a 3/8
