Is this a badge for you to show off at shows?
My interest is to see the historical information in a responsible place. I think it was irresponsible and not in the interest of the history of our cars to give away documents, even cancelled checks.
Is it no big deal to you if Shelby documents go here and there?
Do you consider buying a Cobra replica okay even if the company pays Shelby nothing? Is your kit car- if it does carry the Cobra badge- any different than a watch with a Rolex name on it that is not a Rolex, but says Rolex on the dial?
Is Rolex greedy? Is any company greedy because they built a brand name they market? Like other companies, Shelby employs hundreds of people. The brand name is a huge part of what brings them sales and keeps people working. The greedy and unfair companies are the ones that build knock-off’s of the Cobra and refused, when they had the chance, to pay a licensing fee. Where were these companies when Shelby was winning races and establishing the Shelby and Cobra brand names?
I realize a lot of the people with kit cars cannot afford a real Cobra and are still true enthusiasts. You probably are. At the outside, don't attack Carroll Shelby. He has a big heart and loves enthusiasts.
