Default First Cobra engine given to painter?

I was reading up on Dean Jeffries the custom car guy who painted the first
Cobra yellow (and maybe other colors later)
and the websmaser said he was given the first Cobra engine
Well I wonder if it was really the first 260 out of the first Cobra as installed by Dean Moon's minions in Sante Fe Springs.

Another website

Jeffries Manta Ray

ldepicts what looks like later engine going by the grooved valve covers.
Anothehr picture of the engine is at

'Manta Ray' engine

Anyway it it was really the 260 cu.in.test engine I would think it should go back to the first Cobra. I think the webmaster should say "one of the first Cobra engines" if it isn't the first one.

None of the articles I found mention the Mantaray is built on a Maserati chassis that is worth lots kusit by itself
