It's a great choice for an axle. Basically the Jag version of the Dana 44.

Here are a couple of places to check for info:

Classic Jaguar : Jaguar High Performance Parts and Restoration

Custom Jaguar IRS independent rear suspension - Jag irs - Cobra irs

These guys know their Jags and can give you reliable, factual info

PS: I believe the 80s and the 2000s rotors are completely different.
