I think it was Roush that started the whole 2-year warranty program thing and then a lot of the other crate engine builder followed suit. I would interested in hearing the results too. I bet there are a lot of Roush engines out there in SPF's.

I was planning on buying a Roush engine for my Sunbeam Tiger, but ultimately sold it. So I never bought a Roush engine. I just bought a crate engine for my Kirkham, but haven't installed it yet. However, I purchased it from an engine builder who's somewhat local to me, instead of going the Roush route. Also, the Roush FE's are enormously expensive compared to most FE crate engine builders, but I assumed that the extra expense was to fund the warranty program.
