1/8 MILE DRAGS/1.2KM HILLCLIMB/GO-TO-WHOA/2.2KM SUPER-SPRINT
SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS
WAKEFIELD PARK
SATURDAY 6TH OCTOBER AND SUNDAY 7TH OCTOBER 2001



AUTHORITY:
The event is held under the International Sporting Code of the FIA, the Competition Rules of Wakefield Park, together with these Supplementary Regulations, the Standing Regulations for Speed Events and any Final Supplementary Regulations issued by the Organiser.

3. TIME, DATE AND LOCATION:

The following events of the Cobra Car Club will be held at Wakefield Park:



Saturday 6th October, 2001 - Event One - 1/8 mile Drags (starting at 12.15pm)

- Event Two - 1.2km Hillclimb, to follow Event One

- Event Three - Go-to-Whoa, to follow Event Two (finishing at 5.30pm)



Sunday 7th October, 2001 - Event Four - 2.2km Super-Sprint (starting at 9am, finishing at 5.30pm)


N.B. EVENTS OR LAPS COMPLETED WILL BE DETERMINED BY:

ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
TIME RESTRICTIONS
TRACK CONDITIONS, I.E. OIL SPILLS, ACCIDENTS ETC.
PERMIT:
The event will be held under a Wakefield Park permit and displayed at the events.



INSURANCE:
All competitors, spectators and “Signed On” officials at Wakefield Park are not covered for Personal Accident Insurance, as per the Wakefield Park Agreement Release and Waiver Liability Form.

ELIGIBILITY:
The event will be open to financial members of the Cobra Car Club only. The minimum competition licence required being a Wakefield Park Licence. This Licence and current Club membership card will be required and checked prior to racing.



ENTRIES:
Entries will open with the publication of these regulations and must be submitted on the official entry form. See Event Schedule and Test Format for each event’s details and closing time for entries.

All drivers will be required to pay the following Entry Fees:
THE ENTRY FEE WILL BE $100 PER COMPETITOR WHETHER YOU ENTER ONE OR ALL FOUR EVENTS

Event One 1/8 mile Drags
Event Two 1.2km Hillclimb
Event Three Go-to-Whoa
Event Four 2.2km Super-Sprint


ENTRIES: Cont.

Entries will be accepted from ‘Bona fide owners’. Each Driver must complete a separate entry form and must be lodged with the Event Secretary. The event will be limited to 120 competitors.

Receipt of entries will determine the competitors’ number and cars will compete in numeric order for all events.
Organisers have the right to refuse any entry . NB If over-subscribed, to effectively operate the Events, the acceptance of entries shall be at the sole discretion of the Event Secretary.



CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT:
The Organisers reserve the right to alter or abandon an event for any reason they see fit.



SCRUTINEERING:
All competitors must present themselves to the Event Secretary prior to scrutineering and produce a current competition license and current Club Membership card.

All competing cars must be presented to the scrutineers for compliance to these supplementary regulations. See Event Schedule and Test Format for event requirements.

All competing cars must be road registered and trade plates will not be accepted.

Roll bars are not compulsory but recommended for open cars.
Pre-Event Scrutineering for all four events will take place on Montague Street, Goulburn, New South Wales, from 9:00am until 11:30am on Saturday the 6th October, 2001 during the “Show-n-Shine” event.



VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
12a. All vehicles participating must have a minimum safety standard of a lap type seat belt, and will be checked for general road-worthiness.

12b. A blue triangle with 150mm sides, indicating the location of the battery or isolation switch must be fitted externally to the vehicle
12c. An approved fire extinguisher must be in easy reach of the driver whilst in a secured harnessed position
12d. All tyres must be road legal, reprocessed or retreaded tyres, and drag slicks, or circuit racing slicks are not allowed.
12e. Working brake lights are compulsory on all vehicles
12f. All vehicles must have a road legal windscreen attached
12g. All vehicles must have panels, i.e. doors, boot, bonnet attached
DRIVER REQUIREMENTS
12h. Goggles or visors must be worn by drivers in open vehicles. Those with glass lenses of any kind are not acceptable.
12i. Drivers will be required to wear clothing from the throat to wrist to ankle and including suitable footwear.
12j. An approved helmet Must be worn for all sprint events.


Nitrous oxide will not be permitted to be used in any competition events under any circumstances.

When competing the driver’s side window must be down, or in the case of a fixed window, must be removed or open to allow immediate, simple external entry to the internal door opening mechanism.

Any car suffering damage or mechanical failure during the event must be returned to Scrutineering for inspection prior to continuing. Cars considered unsafe or unsuitable will be precluded from further events as will vehicles exceeding a noise limit of 95dB(A) measured 30 metres from the track.



PRACTICE:
There will be no practice for the events. More than one 1/8 mile Drags, 1.2km Hillclimb, Go-to-Whoa and 2.2km Super –Sprint participation should be available to each entrant subject to time availability and the discretion of the Clerk of Course.



14. DRIVERS BRIEFING:

A compulsory driver’s briefing will be held at the venue prior to each event. Any driver failing to attend a briefing may be excluded from that event.

Event One, Event Two and Event Three will be held at 12 midday at Wakefield Park.
Event Four will be held at 8.45am at Wakefield Park.




15. CLASSES and ELIGIBILITY:

A) Cobra up to 5199cc

B) Cobra 5200 cc and over
C) Cobra turbo/supercharged engines

D) Non-Cobra, i.e. GT40’s etc.



16. AWARDS:

The following awards will be presented for each of the events.

Event One 1/8 mile Drags 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male Classes A, B, C combined Total of 3 awards

1st, 2nd, 3rd Female Classes A, B, C combined Total of 3 awards

1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female combined Class D Total of 3 awards



Event Two 1.2km Hillclimb 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male Classes A, B, C combined Total of 3 awards

1st, 2nd, 3rd Female Classes A, B, C Combined Total of 3 awards

1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female combined Class D Total of 3 awards



Event Three Go-to-Whoa 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male Classes A, B, C combined Total of 3 awards

1st, 2nd, 3rd Female Classes A, B, C combined Total of 3 awards

1st, 2nd, 3rd Male & Female combined Class D Total of 3 awards



Event Four 2.2km Super-Sprint 1st, 2nd, 3rd Male Class A Total of 3 awards

King Cobra Award 1st Outright Male & Female combined Total of 1 award



Total = 43 awards



The “King Cobra” Award will be presented to the person who gains the most number of points out of 25 from all five events. Five points down to one point will be awarded to the outright winners of each event. The two classes in the “Show -n- Shine” event will each have five points awarded. However, only the highest points gained from one of the two classes will count towards an individual’s total for the “King Cobra” Award.

Additional awards may be presented at the discretion of the director.
