Thumbs up Wild Ride

So here we are at the last vintage race of the 2001 season at SIR, and guess what pulls up to our disbeleif.. a 1968 McClaren road car. Oh my god!!! Actually, it is a one-off replica built to the exact standards of the real thing (the one which was McClaren's perosnal road car). It took one local expert about 1 hour to determine that he couldn't determine if it was the real thing, except for its pristine condition. (Built in Puyallup, WA in 1993 with only 500 miles on the Odo!).

At day's end, we were fortunate enough to join him for the return trip back north. We escorted him for some 50 miles up hiway 167 and I-405.. protecting him from lane drifters. 2 Cobras and a McClaren...talk about stopping traffic... it was simply unreal.

Here is one of 3 shots I'll share in this and 2 subsequent posts.

Zderf and Rich....
