All of the security crap is not making flying very attractive either. I'm not saying that we don't need the security, I am saying it is a pain in the butt. The airlines realize that security is turning some pasengers away and I'm sure that they would streamline security if they could.

If United goes belly up, that will leave a big hole in the Star Alliance which I fly all the time. The only other American carrier that is a partner is US Air which I consider to be very low on the ladder. I honestly do not know how they stay in business.
