I will never accuse anyone for asking a dumb question! I have done it too many times myself. "PILLOWBLOCK" IS BASICALLY A HEIM JOINT (OF MULTIPLE SIZES) with a threaded rod on one end. You there fore drill a hole or build a mount, slide the shaft through the hole then bolt it in place tightly. I.E.; steering column with more than two "U" joints will want to move in an egg shaped circle. You install the intermediate shaft through the "Pillow Block/Heim joint, bolt the Pillowblock or Heim joint in place you get the benefit of the heim/bushing while the shaft keeps it from wobbeling.

Does that make sense?
