Chris, I read the thread and my opinion is that it doesn't matter. Your opinion is that most Kirkham options are a waste of money. My opinion is that everyone is unique and a stainless steel frame, aluminum rear end and a polished finish might be important to some. When my Kirkham is finished, I will definitely have a lot more than $68,000 in mine. A lot more.
Excaliber believes that a period correct suspension and a date coded '65 side oiler block might be the "holy grail" (or at least the block). I don't. A Kirkham is more valuable to me if it has an aluminum block (Pond or Shelby) and the latest Kirkham billet (light) suspension. We're all different.
Nonetheless, Bud is happy and the gentleman from Texas got a great deal. There's nothing like good timing. I've never had it.
