Isn't that statement alone a sad and sorry reflection on 21st Century America??????? What HAVE we become that a television 'celebrity' should have THAT much influence. I KNOW we are mirroring the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, but for all their latterday decadence, even THEY held actors in LOW regard! We are unnaturally obsessed with mediocrity in the media. Nothing against Oprah in particular, as she is merely a symptom NOT a cause, and in all honesty does more good with her riches than 99% of the other
celebrities that our society has created. We have hardly chosen the intellectual elite to be those we 'worship'! My beef is with the fact that WE, the American people, have created a multitude of these 'false idols'...(and I am not even religious...lol), and allowed the media to completely control us.
Wasn't it one of the 7 Signs of the end of the world that are described in detail in The King James III version of the Bible, Revelations II, Chapter 7 verses 5-7?
