Final Report
Just got my 500 mile butt check at NW Differential. All is perfect. They partially removed the 3rd member for close inspection, changed to high grade synthetic oil, installed a new speedo drive gear to correct for the ratio change, and sent me on my way... all at No Charge.
Now I can go figure out how to drive again... this time with that Detroit Tru Trac.
