Generally with the exception of the cross members which usually do not interfere, the engine bay is open allowing the use of a front OR rear sump. You will usually use an aftermarket pan with more capacity and offering baffles & gates to control the oil. Thus the original pan on the engine is of no real importance, it becomes more of a cover for shipping. A direct answer however is a front sump is probably more prevalent.
