If everyone who thinks that someone other than our misguided policies are to blame for the sudden run-up in prices & not the currently cartel dominated supply, they should support removal of all restrictions on exploration, drilling and refineries. When the prices don't change all of us drilling advocates will graciously turn over our keys to our gas guzzlers. You may blame speculators, the american public, the major
oil companies, Bush, Cheney, Halliburton & others on the socialist hit list, but assigning the blame isn't going to accomplish anything. We are currently not in control of the market in
oil, our american based
oil companies that everyone wants to tax or at least blame are responsible for a very small amount of actual crude production. Increasing the amount of crude produced outside of the cartel will at least reduce the control they have. By the way we import finished products not just crude due to a lack of refining capacity.
