Dividing the AN number by 16 only gives you a rough idea of the actual inner diameter size. An AN-12 hose is not EXACTLY 3/4" in diameter so don't try to push an AN-12 hose onto a 3/4" hose fitting. That's why you can also find actual 3/4" braided steel hose for heater use, etc. The two hoses are not interchangeable. Conversely, don't try to use 3/4" braided hose with an AN-12 fitting. As already posted, the AeroQuip site has a handy sizing guide to help you.
