Just installed two Holley red pumps on the GT40. They're mounted to the rear bulkhead, which is directly behind the seats but in the engine compartmet. I used rubber grommets for noise isolation, limiting noise to a reassuring purr. Like to hear the pumps.
However, if they are mounted directly to the body . . . lots of noise.
