I hadn't thought about an off-center load. That wouldn't be an ideal solution, but it is
a solution.
The winch-on solution would also present some difficulties both for loading and unloading.
I wonder if it's possible to get Pace to install a side door in an already built trailer without having to sell a kidney on ebay.
