The numbers attached to
oil weights are not absolutes. 20 weight
oil is not twice as thick as 10 weight. 30 is not 3 times thicker. Also rearend oils use a different system alltogether. A 90 wt gear
oil may have near the same viscosity as a 30 wt engine oil.
