That's not a tree - this is a REal tree!
A 400 year old samaan tree in the Derek Walcott Square in downtown Castries, St. Lucia. The pictures don't do it justice. In addition to being fairly tall, these suckers grow an awesome horizontal spread.

The tree is commonly known in writing as the "Massav tree" because when strangers would go up to a local loiterer dozing in the shade and exclaim "Wow! What kind of tree is that?" his tired response would be "M'a sav." Meaning "I don't know" in the local creole dialect.
