Yes, I went to snopes and read the whole page. This thing has been around for a long time in various forms. I also went to my McAfee accopunt and checked on it and it is for real, but not quite as disastrous as they seem to want you to believe.
And talking of computer problems, I don't have the same one that you reported when you click on the New Post list. I guess my computer is to old and slow to have that problem.
