I have a Dove tank and the measurement is 5 11/16" from the top bolt to the top of the radiator cap. I have a 496 in a LS and it had plenty of clearance. I mounted the upper part of the tank (its reversible) towards the center and used the stock motor mounts supplied by LS. FWIW the top of the rad cap flange is even with the top of the MSD distributor, when removed. I also used a grinder and removed the Dove logo and ribs then polished since I didn't care for the logo. Yea, I was hoping Earl would chime in earlier with a measurement on his. I'd hate to assume it's the same. I'm also very aware of Dove's casting porosity issues and had asked if it had been pressure tested. I could probably deal with the offset outlet but getting a second hand tank that may or may not leak is one variable I can't opt for. I'd have no recourse if it did leak. I'd heard of one new Dove tank that water seeped out almost as fast as you could pour it in.
