You'll be registering your car under SB1578, which is SB100 for out of state cars. Since your car was already registered out of state, I'm not sure you'll need to complete a statement of construction, but the rest of the process probably applies.
Make an appointment at the DMV, pay your fees and sales tax (don't cheat, they know better), and start walking your car through the process.

You should be able to get temporary operating permits (normally issued for 30 or 60 days) to keep you on the road through the end of the year. Search for Sb100 on CC and soak it all in.
