I think that mentality is true for a lot of really left-wing liberals. Bigger gov't, bigger spending, the welfare nanny state. The Republicans over the last 10 years have been pulled too far in that direction and the Federal spending has skyrocketed. I really hope that when McCain gets elected that he can put a stop on runaway federal projects and wasteful earmarks.
What is really needed is the ability to do a line-item veto.
Of course, if Obama was to promise (in writing, of course) that when my SS checks start, that the amount would triple, I might have to switch parties.
My vote can be bought, but not for some measly amount.
