You definitely have my vote for doing the right thing. Though it would hurt to have the Cobra wrecked, it can be repaired and the lives of the kids and their parents can't be restored. I always try to stop at least a car length behind a car in front of me at lights and crosswalks no matter what car I am in. And when I had just bought my 1965 Galaxie new, I think I had about 150 miles on it a similar thing happened except the idiot rammed the back and completely destroyed it. But because I was a car length from the crosswalk the people in it were ok even though with my brakes locked up he still hit me so hard he shoved my car half way across the intersection. But that guy got out and was going to sue me for being stopped in the road in the middle of the city with the red light against me and people crossing the street in front of me. When the police got there everything changed and I got a new car out of it and I don't know what he got as I never wanted to see him again. If I had been stopped right at the crosswalk lines, some of the people would have been hurt and possibly killed. I hated it about the car, but would never have gotten over it if I had hit one of those people and harmed them. You did right!
