Wanted: Owner of polished out alloy body 427 in N. Calif....
....to participate in book project by having their car be the object of the book, cover to cover.
The way I envision it photographically, it would have to be a polished out car, preferably without the frosted stripes, preferably with side pipes and S/C trim.
The idea is to do a short travel book, featuring the best of pictures shot of the car as it winds its way up the coast from about Cambria to Monterey on a weekday preceding the Monterey Historic in mid-August '09.
If you are a dealer, there's probably a way to work a full page ad for your dealership into the book (Burt Levy has ads in his novels, but I haven't figured out why there aren't ads in other books, other than Automobile Year).
The appeal of the book would be primarily photographic, hence my choice of a polished out alloy body car--which from my short experience photographing one before--would photograph more spectacularly than any painted one. An exception might be a 427 race car car with a full complement of racing accoutraments, down to inspection stickers, etc., but a car still street legal (but barely)
Or if you are on the East Coast , there's a possibility of doing the drive there--let me know what you consider a great route through spectacular scenery, possibly tied in with an event at the end.
