I have had several 514 FMS with valve train problems, but it always seems to come back to the valve springs. The springs that come on the 514 FMS are lousy and have a short life span driven on the street. Installing a good quality set of valve springs makes this engine much more durable. Upgrading the keepers and retainers right while your there is good insurance also.
