When I first visited Shelby American at their Airport Facility (after placing an order and deposit with Leslie motors). I was given the opportunity to pick the roller that would become my Cobra. They took me to a large parking area where there were about 50-75 427 Cobra's parked. Every one of them had some kind of shipping damage and was in need of repair. Many of them had been walked on during the shipping and unloading process. I picked the one with the least damage in the color that I ordered. It had a very large dent in the drivers side rocker panel where someone had kicked it.
I could not believe that people would have so little respect for these cars.
One of the paint and body guys at Shelby told me that they were repainting almost every car because of the shipping damage.
