I asked a chemist buddy of mine (works for EXXON) about naphtha, he said it is mostly used in paint thinners and Coleman fuel.....a petroleum distilate....very high octane rating, depending on where you find it, it could be from about 110 to 125.........
When I drag raced my 65 fastback (351-W), I would drive to Auto Zone, buy a gallon of virgin lacquer thinner (about 4 bucks then), 99% naphtha,borrow a funnel, pour it in the gas tank and go across the street and fill it up with 93 octane premium and go to the track, done it numerous times over the years, maybe as many as 20 or more, same motor, same everything still in the car today.......runs great,never had any problems....
I would think the amount of Sea Foam used in a tank of fuel would help, but not be enough to hurt bearing or cause any other problems.....
My brother-in-law uses it in his two boats (outboard motors) and swears by it and so does the local boat dealer........
