Getting checks ?? The President Obama has said his economic stimulus bill will create or save 3,000,000 jobs .... this means each job will cost about $275,000 . Per the wonderful Imperial Federal Government , the average US Household income is $50,000/yr . Stupid question , but wouldn`t we be better off just giving everyone a check and let us decide what to do with the money ?
Here`s a partial breakdown , per Cal Thomas : $6 billion for colleges and universities , States will get $160 billion ( we know how well they manage their finances ) , $200 million to repair the National Mall , $400,000 for National Treasures , $1 billion will go to Community Development Block Grants ( they already have $16 billion on hand ) and Congress plans to rescind $9 billion in highway funding that the states haven`t used yet . Also , $650,000 for more digital TV coupons
According to the GAO , " only 25% of the infrastructure dollars can be spent in the first year , making the one year total less than $7 billion for infrastructure . " WTF !!!
