Our typical harvest rotation is 40-60 years with sometimes a thinning at 35-40.
The seedling supply is excellent, both Oregon and Washington require replanting within two years(right now is planting time) and for the most part trees are planted at twice the mature stocking of about 300 to the acre.
As for quality the seed stock has been taken from the area the trees were cut in and side by side you can't tell much difference at all.
I planted 20 acres of trees on our own property 35 years ago, they will more than pay for my grandchildren's college.
Need some WOOD?
