They're not bad at all if you have a nice clean place to work. There are lots of little parts including small bearings, springs, detents, etc. There are many good downloadable manuals that you can snag before you start.

You will need a good pair of snap ring pliers, and a pencil magnet. It's much easier to remove/install bearings with a press and bearing pullers, but you can do it without.
