Thanks all for the input. Looks like the vote is: If the engineering of the finished car is of a comparable standard, then the Shelby is the preferred investment, given a reasonably close (within 10%) purchase price.

There is no doubt a 100% Kirkham car, finished by an excellent builder is a piece of engineering art. So please don't take this as a negative on the Kirkham cars, I love them too.
