When I purchased my C6 Z06 I also looked at the Ford GT. The GT has it with looks and WOW factor but in some ways it's even less practical than my Cobra. It has no storage and I would have to spend extra bucks to just fit in it. I'm 6'6" tall and just don't fit in the Ford. I can take the Cobra on a trip but it would be very difficult to do that with a Ford GT because of the lack of storage space. The price difference was also a factor but the biggest reason for going with the Corvette was it's practicality. I use it as a daily driver and took a 6,700 mile road trip in it. On the trip I averaged 25.5 MPG. From everything I have read the ZR1 is even more practical except for the reduced gas mileage. So the Ford GT is a fantastic car but it's a toy like the Cobra. The ZR1 is supercar that can be used as a daily driver.
