This thread started with an inaccuracy in a Presidential speech. Lord knows there will be others. Perhaps not enough to create a 365 day calendar of them like my beloved Bushisms calendars of years past. But, I'm sure will be some.

Actually they'll be called Bidenisms. Now that guy is a train wreck about to happen.

David, thanks for starting a vigorous and fun thread. Why don't you toss out another incindiary? How about global warming, gay marriage or gun control???
HI acindrich,

I think it's easy to walk in a room and toss out a broad and general statement, then say it's too complex to articulate, and last try to shift the topic. Please tell me specifically what you disagree with? As far as people disliking the US because of "our" policies, that's the way it has always been, people hate the BIG guy. They are mad that they aren't in charge and don’t feel bigger, if they can pull us down to their size it pulls them up to our size. Unfortunately there is no other force in the world that considers freedom significant enough to go to the table for it. More and more, in the US, our citizens believe that security is more desirable than freedom. I think much of the damage in the world comes from our own citizens cowering. We are a great nation who has provided much of the leadership in the world. Along with that spotlight comes much envy. At the end of the day the world will always compare themselves against the longest stick, not the shortest... We, the USA, are the measuring stick of the world.

It's interesting how everyone wants to give Obama a buy. Hey, this guy during the campaign said that there were 57 States! I understand that everyone messes up. But the real question is experience and motive. This guy had less real executive experience than the GOP VP candidate Did. He has done NOTHING yet, other than to get elected. I think the real litmus test here is to look at the outcome four years from now. Then ask yourself if you are better off, more free, and have better opportunity than previously. If not, Obama failed as the leader of America. If the initial trend continues of more spending, confiscation and redistribution of wealth, censorship of opposing speech, we're not headed in the right direction.

On another note... I appreciate that you're smart and talented. I don't expect that David would hire anyone the less. Likewise, this forum consists of a lot of really smart and successful individuals. The members of this forum are driven to success because they can enjoy the fruits of their labor, our toys and many other things. They don't work hard to be stripped of their success! This current administration appears to be heading in a trend that will punish success. Obama has publicly stated that he believes in social reparations, and appears to be racing towards that end. I work hard for my own benefit, not to provide for someone who chooses not to survive. I empathize for those who struggle as I, not those who demand my compliance as a slave.

Len
