408 are a very good combo but more cubes for the same money is better. We build many strokers a year and have no problems with rod angularity. Most who make a big deal over it do not understand it fully anyway. In Theory Rod/ stroke ratio assumes the cylinder center axis is in the center of the main. I can assure you that 99% of the time it is not. When we CNC our blocks we correct the placement that Ford and the aftermarket block suppliers get close. Cylinders that are ever so slightly off center have great effect on ACTUAL R/S ratio and most do not even no it exists because they have no way of measuring it, much less correcting it.
