I chose them because at the time they were using all US steel. Most of the discount lift manufacturers are not, it's from China and there have been some failures. Some of them may be fine but I've had some tools from NH Northern that seemed to be made of peanutbutter. That being said I couldn't see my self under a lift that had suspect steel in it. So if I were you I'd check on that and the hyd. cylinder size. Those two things should give you a good measurement of relative quality. JMO, Steve
