The American captain was indeed selfless and heroic, but he knew the risks. I wonder, if a bunch of SEALs was called into play, how the pirates would handle it. I doubt very much that they'd kill the Captain. Nonetheless, note that all our "unconventional" forces at sea are in RIBs---emphasis on "inflatable". Not precisely "bullet-proof", I'd say! The CO of the cutter wet his panties, and called USCG District 1 HQ Boston, where the decision was made to allow the Russians to BOARD the USCG cutter, retake Kuderka---brutally---and drag him back aboard the trawler. We should reverse that scenario RIGHT NOW!!!!!

We need to do a testosterone-level check on all Federal Admin types (and not just the Navy), arm our flagged vessels, man them with all-American crews, and generally cut the sissy crap---YESTERDAY. Refit ALL the Iowas, and unleash unvarnished, pitiless HELL on those dung-beetles in Somalia (and everywhere else piracy is occurring).
