Hmmmmmmm!!! You may use appropriate force. Wonder just what appropriate force is defined to be. That could be a manual a 100 pages long, for all we know. Why not just authorize deadly force? And why would you have to authorize such force two days in a row if it was in the hands of the military on site?

I have suspected that this was micro managed from DC ever since the captain jumped out of the boat, and the navy allowed the pirates to recapture the captain without a shot fired. How disappointed that captain must have been! I suspect the Navy had their hands tied at that point, or it would have be over right then and there.

I may be senical and untrusting, but my experiance has proven that it is the wisest approach.
