Thumbs up Nice job on the valve covers

lovehamer Steve do we have a torch?? Hoping the work is yes. The plates for the headers must be soft steel to get heat warpage like that. Lets fix the flanges at the heads first, DON'T TRY and straighten the flanges by using your good heads!!!! 2 thoughts on doing this. How good are you at eyeing things?? if good heat the head flanges and straighten them out with pliers and a turbo blow tip. The pipes are not coated yet. Flat edge each mounting surface to get it flat as possible. After you run the motor a couple of times the heat from the exhaust will help to flatten the flanges better. Even and proper torque needs to be done right on this step. If you have an old FE head kicking around use this head to straighten the flanges. with heat. Use a smaller tip on the torch to direct where you want the bent to take place. Will take longer. Use 2 washers and try to not over heat the bolt head. Tighten bolt until surfaces meet, reheat this area to red and let cool with room temp. After you do this, the fun starts, Make sure that you can install ALL the bolts in the headers without gaskets first. Yoiu may have to grind the holes a little to make them fit. For the Gaskets, cut the bottom of the gasket just wide enought to side on the bolt. Antiseize all the bolts. You should have the rest. Take your time. Good luck Rick. Ps if this doesn't work Shoot Dave(undy) He's sitting on the beach with a cold one and laughing
