Jamo ... you are 100% correct ... and I do remember your British Leyland comment . This just serves to showcase Govt. stupidity/arrogance . It failed before ( and I`m old enough to remember B L very well ) , but we can succeed this time because of who we are ..... change we can believe in .
When I said that I wondered how long Ford could hold up to govt. pressure , so far as I know , they are not controlled in any way by the govt.... yet . However , GM and Chrysler now have unlimited funds ... ours . If they want to undersell Ford and not make a profit ... not a big deal . Just get more of our money to prop up their loses . Or Congress can just legislate Ford out of business .
I see a major effort soon to bring Ford under govt. control .
