Star Trek.
Not a bad movie - good special effects, some great casting (Sulu could have been better), and an OK storyline. And the women also wore the skimpy dresses and interesting hairdos similar to the original series.
I work in high tech so I am enough of a geek to be more than passingly familiar with the characters, but I am not enough of a geek to cry (no lie - this actually happened!) "'I can't believe that they made it an alternate universe - why would they do that!?! - they've ruined my life!!". This guy sitting in the row behind me was so upset...I really wanted to laugh at him, but I didn't because I will probably end up working for him in 5 years.
And then when we were leaving there were two guys going in and one of them says to the other "Well, you are my arch-nemesis". I don't know what the rest of the conversation was about. Probably some online Dungeons and Dragons game.
Worth the 10 bucks if you like sci-fi.
