Pyro-gauges!
Two, one for each exhaust. Marvelous tools, they will tell you instantly if one cylinder starts to act up-at least what bank it is on.
Drag racing, they were critical. Even though the water gauge showed motor was up to heat, if the exhaust wasn't at 1,125* degreees our strip times were lower-at 1,125 we always got a few tenths faster than not.
